Retinol Peel with NeoStrata

The more intensive renewal programme with retinol by NeoStrata: it stimulates collagen formation and refines fine lines – with a visible flaking phase in the days that follow.

The more intensive renewal programme

Retinol, a derivative of vitamin A, is among the best-documented active ingredients in aesthetic skincare. The professional NeoStrata retinol peel brings this ingredient to the skin in a concentration formulated for professional in-clinic use.

The peel supports cell renewal: in the days after the treatment the uppermost layer of skin renews itself and the skin flakes finely. Many people find their complexion finer and more even afterwards; how pronounced the effect is varies from person to person.

Common reasons for the treatment are first fine lines, a dull complexion, an uneven skin texture and signs of light-induced skin ageing. How pronounced the effect is varies from person to person.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the skin flake after a retinol peel?
As a rule, from the second day there is moderate flaking that can usually be concealed well and is over within a few days. The extent varies from person to person.
How often can a retinol peel be used?
To start with we recommend three sessions four to six weeks apart, followed by an annual refresher of one to two sessions – in each case in autumn and winter, when the sun is weak. We agree the right rhythm with you individually.
When is a retinol peel not suitable?
The treatment is not suitable during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. We also advise against it with acute skin inflammation, certain pre-existing conditions or the simultaneous use of prescription vitamin A preparations – we clarify this beforehand.
What should I bear in mind after the treatment?
During the renewal phase, consistent sun protection and mild, low-irritant skincare are important. Additional peels should be avoided during this time.
How does the retinol peel differ from the AHA peel?
The AHA peel works on the horny layer through alpha hydroxy acids and is well suited as a course of treatments. The retinol peel uses a vitamin A derivative, is applied less frequently and involves a visible flaking phase.
What side effects are possible?
Redness, a feeling of tightness, dryness and visible flaking are possible, and less commonly pigment changes or an irritated skin barrier. We explain everything to you in person before the treatment.
